The weather was custom ordered for the recognition of two of Sayre’s greatest enthusiasts, Joe Palumbo ‘94 and Randy Mills Friday night. Palumbo Lumber recently completed construction of the spacious Press Box at the Sayre Athletic Complex thanks to the donation of materials and labor by the Palumbo Family. In addition, the Announcers Booth was formally dedicated to Sayre’s own “Heart of the Bluegrass” Randy Mills.

The Announcers Booth dedication, made possible by a gift from the Mt. Brilliant Family Foundation, was attended by Hannah Goodman Goodlett ’05 and her husband William Goodlett. Becky and Greg Goodman shared, “We are forever grateful for your kindness and encouragement that you continue to share with all of us. We wish we could be there tonight.”

“Not only was it a tremendous honor and one I will deeply cherish,” said Randy, “it is thrilling to be in the newly constructed Press Box thanks to Palumbo Lumber and the Palumbo Family. And for the National Anthem being sung by Anna Palumbo ’24 and winning against Berea…it was a night to remember!”
