Special guest speaker Mayor Linda Gorton underscored the importance of neighbors and neighborhoods in her comments this morning at Sayre’s annual Neighborhood Breakfast. Acknowledging the good will demonstrated by Sayre’s invitation, the audience of small business owners and residents in and around the Sayre corridor of North Limestone listened and learned about the Mayor’s optimistic and pragmatic forecast for Lexington.
The Mayor emphasized economic development, jobs, tourism, the Town Branch project including a trail from Third and Midland to Rupp Arena, the impact of City Center, 2020 Breeder’s Cup, and Lexington’s newly adopted official flower, the purple coneflower.
For over a decade, Sayre has reached out to its neighbors with compelling speakers, a delicious breakfast and fellowship. When asked who catered the event a guest was surprised to hear it was our own Food Service Director and graduate of the prestigious Culinary Institute of America, Bill Barnes!
