Morgan Slone '19 started playing lacrosse as a freshman after learning the sport in gym class.  Once she started, she was hooked on the sport.  Voted as the team captain her senior year, Morgan went on to win the attention of lacrosse coaches in the state.  She was voted All-American in 2019 by all of the head lacrosse coaches in Kentucky.  She became one of the top defenseman in the state too.  The US Lacrosse presented her with the Jackie Pitts Award.  Named after a pioneer in the development of girls and women's lacrosse, the award recognizes a graduating senior in each area who is an exceptional player and invested in the development of the game in her community. These awards recognize one player from each area who go ‘above and beyond’ in service to his/her team, school, and community. She plans on playing Auburn's Club Lacrosse Team this spring.

Not only has she been able to excel as an athlete, her classroom studies paid off as well.  She earned a 4.0 unweighted GPA and an ACT score of 35.  As a result, she received the Presidential Scholarship at Auburn University and is enrolled in their Honors College.

Congratulations, Morgan!
