Posted 05/25/2017 10:53AM

The Reverend Brian C. Cole was the guest speaker at the Baccalaureate Service last evening at First Presbyterian Church. In Reverend Cole's baccalaureate address, he asked seniors to look ahead to the 22nd century. What kind of world do they hope to make? Being comfortable in solitude and possessing a strong sense of place are both vital as seniors embark on their new journey. Gratitude for the love and support of others is especially important. Thank you, Reverend Cole for delivering such a special message.

Reverend Cole was ordained to the priesthood in 2002 in the diocese of Western North Carolina. He served as the Vicar of Church in the Advocate in Asheville, North Carolina. The Church of the Advocate is a homeless worshiping community in downtown Asheville. From 2005 to the time when he was called to serve as Rector of Good Shepherd, Reverend Cole was the Sub-Dean at the Cathedral of All Souls in Asheville. He currently serves on the Executive Council of the Episcopal Church. Reverend Cole is an Associate of the Order of the Holy Cross.
