Welcome! This page contains a brief introduction about my background and my family.
I teach Environmental Science, AP Environmental Science, and Biology. I have a B.S. in Biology and an M.S. in Secondary Education. After college, I spent five years in research at the University of Kentucky (two years in Internal Medicine, Division of Nephrology and three years in Anatomy and Neurobiology). After receiving my masters, I taught five years at Shelby County High School. I started teaching at Sayre in August of 2004. My son, Brett, attended Sayre through the 8th grade. My daughter, Dee Dee, is currently in her sophomore year here at Sayre. My husband, Karl is a speech language pathologist at a long-term care facility in Lawrenceburg.
My interests include teaching (of course!), reading (I enjoy science fiction, fantasy, and mystery novels), hiking and learning science in the field (as in the picture above), and playing soccer.
