Lower School Technology
Ms. Joan Campbell Skees
Welcome. I am the Lower School Technology Coordinator and computer teacher. I have taught for over thirty years in all elementary grades, both as a classroom teacher and a specialist, all within private schools in Kentucky and Michigan. I joined the Sayre Faculty in 1988. I have two daughters who graduated from Sayre as "lifers."
I have seen dramatic changes in technology throughout my years at Sayre and have found it exciting to be a part of that experience. I consider myself a "lifelong learner" and encourage my students to do the same.
All Sayre faculty members use personal laptops daily. Laptops, desktops, and iPads are available to students within the classroom setting and the computer lab. Peripheral devices, such as scanners, digital and video cameras, projectors, document cameras, and interactive whiteboards are available to our entire community as well. LEGO Mindstorms and WeDo robotics are also utilized within the science and technology curriculum.
Using the links to the left, you can obtain an overview of the computer curriculum specific to each grade level, Kindergarten through Grade 5, in which computer classes are conducted in the Lower School.
Feel free to contact me with any questions. If you require additional information, I can be reached by email at firstname.lastname@example.org or by phone at 254-1364, ext. 302.
