Endowment Campaign

Our most critical strategic asset, the endowment, is composed of gifts made to the school over the course of our history from individuals deeply committed to Sayre's mission and purpose. Endowed giving is transformative. Donors who make gifts to Sayre's endowment advance the strategic priorities of the school and have a permanent impact on the Sayre experience. Those who contribute can take great pride in knowing that their gifts protect the Sayre education for generations to come.

DonnDHollingsworth

This year, Sayre School is proud to introduce the Donn D. Hollingsworth Path to Exploration, Learning, and Opportunity Endowment Campaign.

As we look back on the 168-year history of Sayre, there are many inflection points and moments in time that shaped and molded our school. The years of 1961 through 1975 changed our trajectory forever, and the individuals here at that time left an indelible mark on this institution. To honor those years and the leadership necessary to bring us into the New Era, we are proud to announce that the brick path leading to Old Sayre will be renamed this fall for the Headmaster of that time period.

The dedication of the Donn D. Hollingsworth Path to Education, Learning, and Opportunity is made possible by generous support for the Sayre School endowment. This campaign will honor Mr. Hollingsworth and inspire giving that will help sustain the needs of Sayre School, our students, and our faculty in perpetuity.

Join Sayre and John and Carolyn Hackworth in honoring Donn. D. Hollingsworth, Headmaster 1961-1975.  For more information, please contact the Advancement Office at (859) 254-1361 or develop@sayreschool.orgHe would begin to inspire us. Like a master football coach, he would get us so pumped to do the best job we could possibly do. He’d say, ‘I have faith in you and I know that you’re going to do a great job for the kids.’ By golly, we were working for Sayre School and Donn Hollingsworth and we would do whatever needed to be done. John Hackworth
