Tuition & Financial Aid

Sayre uses the School and Student Services by NAIS (SSS) in the initial evaluation of financial aid applications. The Parents' Financial Statement (PFS) is the application used to gather pertinent family information. The PFS asks for specific information including, but not limited to:

• family size
• number of children attending tuition charging schools
• indebtedness
• medical expenses
• unusual expenses
• income and other assets such as savings and investments

The Sayre Financial Aid Committee considers the SSS analysis along with any other relevant information provided by the family in making financial aid awards. Families are notified of their award by mid-March to early April.

To apply for need-based financial aid, please go to the SSS Family Portal to complete the Parent Financial Statement (PFS). New aid applicants will create a login and password, while returning aid applicants can use their previous login credentials.

The PFS includes questions about members of your household, income, assets, and expenses. It helps to have your most recent tax and income documents handy to help complete the PFS, along with good numbers/estimates of your monthly household expenses. Those tax documents (Federal and state tax returns, W-2 or other income documents, etc.) must be uploaded to SSS (or digital/hard copies provided to Sayre) as part of the process.

When completing the application, please select Sayre School to receive the PFS (our school code is 7162).  For the 2024-25 aid cycle, the SSS fee of $60 must be paid to complete the application. Some families will qualify for an automatic fee waiver based on the household and financial information in the PFS.

Sayre funds financial aid from a set budget. It is important for families requesting aid to complete the process in a timely manner so they can be considered for aid before the budget is allocated.

November - January:
Although SSS begins accepting the PFS for the next school year on September 1, Sayre encourages families to apply November through January.

February 1:
Completed PFS due

Mid-March to early April:
Families begin to be notified of aid awards

April 30:
Families who receive aid must submit their most recent year's tax documents through SSS or the school, or provide an update on the status of their tax filing

In the case of split households, Sayre asks that each parent complete their own financial aid application. If either parent remarries, the financial information of the step-parent should be included in the application materials. We will take into account the obligations of the parent and step-parent to their own children as we process the information.

Documentation should be provided if there is a divorce/custody agreement regarding financial responsibility for the student.
