Sayre welcomes Taylor Burgess to Advancement team

Sayre School welcomes Taylor Burgess ’08 as the new director of annual giving and alumni engagement. Taylor brings over a decade of expertise in development and donor relations within collegiate athletics, recently serving as assistant director of development, stewardship, and donor relations at the K Fund, University of Kentucky Athletics.

During his tenure at the K Fund, Taylor organized donor trips for men’s basketball and football postseason travel, managed premium seating allocations, and successfully raised $6.3 million for capital projects like the renovation of Nutter Field House and the Joe Craft Center Locker Room. He also facilitated strategic partnerships between UK Athletics and car dealerships, supporting coaching staff needs.

Previously, Taylor was the athletic relations coordinator at the K Fund, where he provided essential administrative support and managed donor relations during men’s basketball postseason travel.

Taylor earned his bachelor’s degree in integrated strategic communications from the University of Kentucky’s College of Communication and Information in 2012. He is a proud graduate of Sayre School (Class of 2008). Outside of work, Taylor enjoys volunteering in youth sports and spending quality time with his wife Layne and their daughter Barrett in Lexington.
