Sayre School has been recognized by Smiley Pete Publishing as the Best Private Elementary School and Best Private High School in Lexington. In the publisher’s second annual Best of Lex rankings released this spring, the Lower and Upper Schools were ranked No. 1 among private schools, while the Middle School was ranked No. 3.

Smiley Pete compiled over 260,000 votes across 10 categories, including local businesses, schools, artists, and more.

"This is a tremendous honor for Sayre School. The recognition from Lexington residents validates our position as a premier educational institution, offering exceptional programs from preschool to high school," said Jeff Oldham, Director of Admission at Sayre. "We are grateful to the Lexington community for acknowledging our commitment to a superior educational experience."

Lexington is consistently ranked as one of the best places in America to raise a family. Sayre School contributes to this distinction by providing Lexington families with a top-tier educational option for their children, Oldham said.

Sayre School's mission is to provide an innovative and inclusive learning environment that empowers students to achieve academic excellence, embrace challenge, and cultivate integrity. Combined with a downtown location, these principles are designed to foster a transformational educational experience.

In another critical ranking, Sayre earned the No. 3 spot for STEM education among high schools in Kentucky by Niche. The Upper School is also ranked No. 3 among college prep high schools in the state.
