Bestselling Author Dusti Bowling Visits Sayre

The Middle School was excited to welcome bestselling author Dusti Bowling. During her visit, Dusti presented her "Spark to Story" talk, joined a book club for a lunch Q&A session, and led engaging workshops on character development for the fifth and seventh grades. In her presentation, she encouraged students to find inspiration in the world around them and draw from their own experiences to create authentic stories. She shared photos and videos of her life in Arizona, explaining how the landscapes, animals, and people she loves shape her storytelling.

Dusti also opened up about her journey to publication, revealing that her first book was rejected 100 times before it was accepted. Her message to the aspiring writers was clear: believe in yourself and never give up, just like the characters in her books.

Students had the chance to ask questions and get their books signed, making it a memorable and enriching day. This visit was a wonderful collaboration between the English teachers, the library, and the entire school community. We are grateful to Dusti for sharing her time and wisdom with us!
