This semester the Sayre Philemon Society raised $7,000 through bake sales, the annual 3v3 tournament, pizza sales, selling candy bar brackets, and the annual campaign. Together, the society served the Ronald McDonald House, Habitat for Humanity’s Shamrock Shuffle, and the Chrysalis House. They made lunches for the Hope Mobile, held a shoe drive, and coordinated books to be delivered to the schools affected by the tornadoes. The money raised was distributed to the Hope Center for Women, the One Parent Scholar House, CASA, Nathaniel Mission, Community Inn, Bluegrass Rape Crisis Center, and Habitat for Humanity. The grant to Habitat was made in honor of Mr. Chambliss's retirement. The Philemon Society is working to establish a partnership with Mary Todd Elementary school benefiting their students.
Three alumni accepted grants on behalf of the agencies where they work - Lyndsey Brady '03, Dani Rodgers '94, and Rob Turner '98.
