Upper School students with me (in beige) in Paris this summer
Bonjour!
I am Linda Chambers and I teach French at Sayre School. I am a citizen of France and I have been living in the United States for ten years. This is my eighth-year at Sayre School, and I can't forget how everyone made me feel welcomed.
My family originates from Morocco, which makes my background very diverse: a mixture of European, African, and now American cultures. I speak four different languages and I have a passion for traveling abroad. I have two children at Sayre: Amir, who’s in fourth grade and Sofia in Pre-K4 Montessori.
I am the co-chair of the World Languages Department pre-K 3-12, and I also teach classes in the Upper School. Our French program is dynamic, innovative and focuses on the Francophone cultures and its people. We strive to encourage students to use French in many different ways, embracing all the technology tools around us. Learning is our priority, but having fun while learning makes it even more rewarding.
Nothing pleases me more than sharing my experiences with students and colleagues and I love learning from and about others. I serve on the Diversity Committee and I am also the advisor for our multi-cultural affinity group in the Middle School: the M&M's.
Being able to adapt and advance in different communities and environments are some of the skills that I strive to transmit to our students in order to prepare them for our ever-changing world.
I am looking forward to seeing you at Sayre School.
Madame Chambers.
