ADMISSION APPLICATION

Admission Process

The first step in the admission process is to submit a completed application form along with the $75.00 application fee. You can request an application by phone, or you may download an Adobe PDF application and mail it to the Admission Office. Please send your application and fee to: Sayre School, Attention: Admission Office, 194 North Limestone Street, Lexington, KY, 40507.

Each applicant and family are encouraged to visit the campus. Applicants are required to complete the screening process which requires a classroom visit and academic assessments. A personal interview may also be required.

All applicants participate in an admission screening. Preschool applicants participate in a developmental assessment, designed to determine readiness for Sayre School's Preschool Program. Students applying to enter grades K-12 are assessed in math, reading, and writing.

In addition to Sayre's admission screening, the Admission Office will request the following documents, which are required in order to complete an applicant's admission folder:

A. the current school year grades

B. recommendation from applicant's math teacher

C. recommendation from applicant's English teacher

D. conduct reports if not indicated on grade sheets

E. any other additional information needed to make an informed admission decision

Applicants are welcome to submit any additional information they would like the Admission Committee to consider. When an applicant's folder is complete, the information will be presented to the Admission Committee for consideration.
