Biology II is an upper level Biology class that will focus on Anatomy and Physiology of humans. Throughout the year we will experiment on invertebrates and dissect different organisms allowing a closer look at the evolution of physiology. We will start the year by studying organic molecules, and their role in organisms. We will move into a discussion of cells, tissues, membranes and skin. We will then plunge into the systems of the human body, concentrating on skeletal, muscular and nervous systems. In the spring semester, we will explore the rest of the systems - cardiovascular, digestive, excretory and reproductive. By the end of the year, I hope you will see how interrelated the human body is and truly understand the principle of homeostasis.
