Students in the 6th grade attend visual art four days per week. The focus of study is two and three dimensional art processes using a variety of art media. The Elements and Principles of Art help each student to explore art processes, artistic styles, and the purposes of art found in every culture around the world.
The sixth grade visual arts curriculum is aligned with the National Art Education Standards. Through collaboration, communication, creativity, and technology, our students experince art processes and best practices in an active, hands-on learning environment. Field trips and participation with community art projects enhance classroom discussions and studies.
